Greengo LED

Product Reviews, Tips, Tricks, News & More!

Hello and welcome back to The Grow Tent Guys Channel!

We are really excited to bring you a complete overview of the new LED we just purchased.  We are going to put it in the tent and run it for a week before providing a personal review, so make sure to hit that subscribe button to receive updates on our channel to learn more.

I should state that we purchased this LED direct from Amazon and are not sponsored or paid for providing this information.

Now, if you like to geek out on specs and details offered new tech, then stay tuned as we are going to review some for you now!

This is the Greengo 248W LED Light from Amazon.  It comes in a large amazon box with the manufacturer’s box inside and includes:

1 x 1200W LED Grow Light,
1 x Power Cord,
1 x Hanging Kit,
1 x Adjustable Rope Hanger,
1 x Instruction Manual

There are a total of 112 Bridgelux triple chip diodes, including Red, blue, white, warm white, UV and Infrared).

The light comes with a 3-year quality guarantee and a 90-day refund option

The Greengo LED light is touted to replace a 1200-watt HPS or Metal Halide light with only using a 248 watt draw from the wall.  This equals significant savings on your energy bill without loss of quality.

It has a working Voltage from 85 to 265 Volts and uses an input Voltage of AC85 to 264 Volts at 50 to 60 Hertz.

Its dimensions are 17 inches by 8 inches by 2.2 inches and weighs 6 pounds.

The LED has a sleek design with a built in heatsink and 3 cooling fans to help keep your LED super cool.

One of the things I like about this LED is that you can daisy chain them together for larger indoor gardens.  Although they allow only 3 to be connected at a time, it’s still a nice feature and worth mentioning.

That said, the manufacturer recommends a maximum space of 5.5 by 5.5 feet with a core area of coverage of 3.5 by 3.5.

We have the added benefit of adding a light rail, which I would recommend to ensure proper light penetration throughout your area of grow.

If you are making the switch from HPS to LED, you better be ready for a significant drop in heat, as this light barely radiates any.

The Greengo LED also comes with a dual switch, one for Veg and one for flowering.  This is a great way to conserve energy when in veg as you can remove the red LEDs from the spectrum and save on your power bill.

That said, it is recommended that you use both veg and flowering buttons when in bloom.

Now for the good stuff.  PPFD, or Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density, the most important information about any grow light.  The center par reading at 12” is an amazing 2,375 with both veg and flower lights activated.   At 20” it still puts out a par of 1,419.  This is where most of us will use the light.

Remember, when comparing LED lights, it’s not about the draw from the wall, but the actual PPFD and Spectrum of light that makes the difference!

The use of the triple chip diode provides more light and energy efficiency when compared to its dual chip competitors.  And the addition of the Zener diode design allows for any LED to fail without affecting the others.  What this means is that there won’t be a complete shutdown of your light if one of the LEDs burn out!

This LED is not water proof and should only be used indoors.

All in all, we are extremely excited to see how the Greengo LED will perform over the coming weeks.

The sleek look and solid feel of the LED makes me feel that it could be a real option for those looking for affordable, yet performance driven lights for their indoor grows.
